Tsengdok Rinpoche was born in Amdo Rebkong in Tibet. He began studying the Chinese and Tibetan languages at Jamo Primary School in his village.

Rinpoche became a monk in 1989 at Rebkong Rongpo Monastery in Amdo Rebkong in Tibet and started his education in Buddhism.

Rinpoche arrived at Gaden Jangtse Monastery in India on Buddha’s Enlightenment Day in 1994.  In 2004, Tsengdok Rinpoche graduated at Gaden Jangtse University in India with phar phyin rab ‘byams pa.  He offered Geshe  Dong-go at Gaden Jangtse University in the same year.

Since 2004, Rinpoche has travelled extensively to promote Buddhism education, and he has been to many countries, including Nepal, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, and Canada.   Tsengdok Rinpoche finally settled down in Vancouver, Canada in 2005, and Tsengdok Monastery was established there in 2007.  In 2010, Rinpoche received his Geshe degree (PhD in Buddhist Philosophy) at Gaden Jangtse University.

Tsengdok Monastery is open to the public. This Monastery, which is sponsored by one of Rinpoche’s disciples, offers classes, spiritual release, and Tsok on a regular basis.
